Brief Introduction to
Daughter Ring Green Tea
Daughter Ring Tea (also called Golden Earrings tea) is a green tea originated from China’s Yunnan province. The tea shape looks like beatiful earrings for girls. It is a handcrafted tea made from early spring green tea leaves rolled into the shape of a small rings.
The production process of Daughter Ring Green Tea is very different from other green teas. Only the most-tender leaves are picked from large-leaf tea trees in Simao, Yunnan. The first and second leaf of new shoots are plucked before and after the Chinese Qing Ming festival. The leaves are allowed to wither, and then they are slightly steamed and hand-rolled lengthwise Following the rolling, the best leaves are selected and curled around a “beauty stick”, pressed flat, and then dried in a special oven to lock in the flavor and preserve the unique shape. The bottom of the new leaf is naturally covered with a “new down” signifying freshness and purity – characteristics associated with ultimate beauty.
